Tiptree Minors 3 Dunmow United Stars 1

The last game of the season saw Tiptree produce the best football of the campaign. Tiptree had the greater chances in the first half but couldn't capitalize on these. In the second half Tiptree kept pushing and the break through came with a Harry S. goal. But Dunmow were not to be the kicking boys today. Within minutes they had a one-on-one with Keeper Tom, who saved from point blank range; only to see the ball spin over his head and although Clint W. got a foot to it Dunmow still managed to get it in. This re-lit the fire in the Minor's belly and from then on it was a constant onslaught. Cameron M. added a second followed by Liam P. hammering in the final nail in Dunmow's coffin. With eleven aside looming players for next season are required! If you are in year 5 at the moment, come along to Thursday night training (6-7PM Thurstable Astro) and show us your silk!!!

Tiptree Minors 1 Focus Ferrers 2

Some great end to end battles, which ether team could have scored from. Patrick S. played superb in defence and saved Tiptree countless times. Both teams went into the break even with no team showing a clear advantage. The second half saw Tiptree punished for some poor marking from a set piece. This led to Tom being beaten from a soft tap in, one yard out. A few minutes after that saw a lucky own goal, bring Tiptree back on level peggings. This was not to be Tiptree's day and Focus soon went back in the lead with another two yard tap in! The minors battled on and came off with heads held high.

Man of the Match Patrick S.

Tiptree Minors 3-1 New Latchingdon Pythons

Tiptree as always started slow, but with the wind in their face battled bravely against top of the tree Latchingdon. With regular Keeper Tom off ill, midfield mystro Cameron put on the green jersey and did fantastic in goal but despite some brave saves Tiptree went into the break trailing 1-0. With the wind behind them Tiptree came out strong and tore Latchingdon apart. Harry S. got the first with Johnny D. adding a second. Latchingdon could not recover and Harry S. added a second to his tally. Tiptree continue to climb out of the relegation zone and should finish mid table on this performance.

This game is dedicated to Sam B. who fractured his elbow at Thursday night training Ouch!

Man of the match Harry S.

Tiptree Minors 1-1 Writtle Minors

Tiptree took ten minutes to get started , but then continued on at full revs. The ball then ping ponged from end to end with Writtle just taking the edge. Both teams went into the break even. Tiptree started the half strong but conceded a bizarre penalty. Writtle slotted it home and looked set to control the game. Tiptree had other ideas and came back at them and soon levelled proceedings with a Harry S. goal. Tiptree started looking like the team they can be and were unlucky to snatch the points at the end. Another valuable point on the climb out of the relegation zone.

Man of the Match Tom K.

Focus Ferris Eagles 2 Tiptree Minors 1

This was never going to be easy, but Tiptree and the three extra referee's they had made it very hard going. Tiptree seemed to be down a gear and just couldn't get going. Playing up hill and into the wind didn't help. After conceding a well set up goal Focus seemed to be comfortable and soon added a second. After the break Tiptree woke up and Ryan D. came close to scoring with a close range effort. The Tiptree goal came after a defensive error meant Focus put the ball in their own net. Tiptree came good and where on the break looking likely to score when one of the referee's blew for full time. Not the nicest game but good to be over and done with.

Man of the Match Patrick S.

Blackwater and Dengie League U10’s

Crouch Division

Torquespeed Tornados 0 Tiptree Minors 6

Tiptree came into this game with their second win of the season fresh in their minds. Could they make it two wins on the bounce? Tiptree started strongly and managed to get an early goal. The game then settled down and end to end football dominated the rest of the half. A lucky goal towards the end of the half put Tiptree 2-0 up going into the break. The second half saw Tiptree dominate and with goals from Liam P., Johnny D, and two more from Harry S. (to make his goal tally four). The game was finished in a flurry of activity in the opponents half. Some great saves by Torquespeeds keeper kept the score line a lot lower than it might otherwise have been.

Man of the match: Harry S.

Tiptree Minors 3 -2 Hatfield Peveral Blues

After three minutes Hatfield P. were one up and the minors looked shaky at the back. This was the alarm call for Tiptree to wake up, the footballing quality was then turned up to the max. With accurate passes and crosses becoming the norm, it was only a matter of time before Johnny D. grabbed an equalizer. Within the next five minutes Liam P. added another. Hatfield P. weren't going to take this lying down and after another Chuckle Brother type mix up in defence slotted home the equalizer. On the half both teams were equal. The second half saw some great goalkeeping from Hatfield P. after sustained Tiptree pressure. But with minutes to go Harry S. collected the ball from the minors keeper, ran the length of the pitch beating FIVE players and coolly slotted the ball in the back off the net to grab the maximum points. Game set and match the Minors.

Man of the match: The whole team.

Hatfieled Peverel Blues 3 Tiptree Minors 2

Tiptree Minors started the game the better team, with some great shots from Liam McCormack. The game then evened out and produced some great end to end battles. With the score level at half time the game looked to be swinging Tiptree's way. New boy Harry Sutherland managed to finally break down Hatfield's defence to slot one home. Tiptree looked on top and Johnny Daynes added another goal. With four minutes to go Hatfield looked dead and buried, but a counter attack goal put them back in the game and caught Tiptree napping. A minute later they added a second and two minutes after that got their winner. Tiptree lost their shape at the end and paid the price. Man of the Match Harry Sutherland.

Dunmow United Stars 2 Tiptree Minors 0

Both teams went hammer and tong at this game with some crunching tackles. Lewis Taylor was on fire and put Dunmow under pressure early on. A lapse in concentration let Dunmow open up proceedings , Tiptree responded and Liam McCormack just nicked the cross bar with a lob from the edge of the box. The second half was as furious as the first and both teams neither gave or received a quarter. Harry Sutherland dominated the midfield and went close twice. With time running out Tiptree pushed forward and got caught on the break, with Dunmow making it 2-0. Battered and bruised Tiptree were unlucky to get nothing out of this game. But there's always next week. Man of the Match was Patrick Steele.

Tiptree Minors 0 Vipers Youth 2

Both teams clashed head on and gave 100% in this evenly matched contest. Tiptree just had the edge in the first half, after Clint hit the post with a shot from outside the box. At half time the score was 0-0. With the second half came more pressure from the Viper's forwards. They finally broke down Tiptree's defence with a scrappy goalmouth scramble. Tiptree fought back ,but the Vipers goalkeeper pulled off some great saves to keep them in it. An unlucky flick on by Clint, saw the ball just creep past Tom, to put the Vipers 2-0 up. Tiptree couldn't recover and the Vipers remain deservedly unbeaten in the cup. Man of the Match Sam Barrett.

Crouch Division          Tiptree Minors 3 Torquespeed Tornados 2

Tiptree came out of the blocks quickly and put Torquespeed under constant pressure. Ten minutes in and Torquespeed counter attacked and slotted the ball past Tom K.. The Minors held their nerve and Johnny D. got a deserved goal back. Torquespeed then scored before half time to go into the break 2-1 up. Tiptree shifted up a gear and in the second half Clint W. brought the two teams level. With the pressure now on, Tiptree's Johnny D. managed to squeeze the ball into Torquespeed's net and seal a deserved first win of the season.

Man of the Match was awarded to the whole team!

Crouch Division            Tiptree Minors 0 Vipers Youth 0

Tiptree were the better side for much of the first half but could not capitalise on position they had. Plenty of shots and loads of pressure but still the Vipers defence held. When the second half started Tiptree came out of the traps going all out attack, but still couldn't find that deserved goal. The last ten minutes saw the Vipers wake up and put pressure on the Tiptree defence, for the first time this season it stood firm. The final score didn't reflect the effort Tiptree put in today. This is the way forward lads. Man of the match was Tom Kyne.

Blackwater and Dengie League U10’s Crouch Division           New Latchingdon Pythons 4 Tiptree Minors 0
Tiptree started so strongly it looked like this was going to be their day. Early chances from Ryan, Liam and Johnny looked like the start of a great performance. Against the run of play Latchingdon scored, but Tiptree kept their heads and kept the pressure on. The score stayed the same till half time. After the half time break ,Tiptree went back to sleep and were soon 4-0 down. A great shot from late sub Indy was about all the keeper had to do.Tiptree need more effort if the results are to change. Man of the match was Mascot Harley.

Blackwater and Dengie League Cup  U10’s Crouch Division        Writtle Minors 2 Tiptree Minors 1
After last week's whipping Tiptree were not looking forward to this match. Both teams started well, but Writtle just had the edge and by the end of the half had a two goal lead. Tiptree came out from the half and dominated the rest of the match. Chances galore mean that Tiptree should have won. Liam Pearce was the only player to successfully put the ball into the back of the net. Tiptree really need to start putting away chances to have a hope of victory this season.Man of the match was Lewis Taylor

Writtle Minors 5 Tiptree Minors 1

Tiptree started the game on fire, after letting in an early goal they came straight back into it with a lovely strike by Cameron Mansfield. With the game level the points looked like they could go either way. With end to end action this was by far the best football Tiptree have played this season. Both teams came out from the half time break eager to win, but five minutes later Tiptree hit the self destruct button and switched off !!! Ten minutes later Writtle were four goals in front with Tiptree fast asleep. The boys woke up with five minutes to go but it was too little to late. Tiptree showed great spirit at the end and look forward to the rematch, as they know they can really match Writtle on the day.

Man of the Match Cameron Mansfield.

23rd September 2007   Blackwater and Dengie League  U10’s   Crouch Division

League Cup group A   Tiptree Minors 1 Dunmow United Stars 3

An early morning kick off took some of the heat out of this first cup game of the season.

Dunmow scored after only three minutes of play and it looked like another drumming was on the cards for Tiptree. Tiptree some how reformed at the back and solidified a leaky defence. The two teams were now on an even keel with both teams having chances and only being saved by top notch keeping at both ends. Tiptree then won a corner late in the half. Liam Pearce swung in a superb cross which deflected of a Dunmow player into the back of the net. Tiptree then picked up the pace only to go into half time trailing 2-1 by a great strike from Dunmow on the half time whistle. Both teams came out from the half hungry ,but with a midfield mix-up by Tiptree, Dunmow got a third and sealed the victory. A much better Tiptree performance and something to build on. Man of the Match was new signing Clint Walton.

U10’s Crouch Division Rayne Youth 6 Tiptree Minors 0

On a hot and sticky day in Rayne, Tiptree were taught what happens to teams suffering from early season nerves. The game started promising for both teams with chances at both ends. Tiptree seemed to then take a step back from the game and allowed Rayne far too much time on the ball. On eight minutes Rayne hit the back of the net after a goalmouth scramble. The next goal came from a Tiptree goal kick that caught Sam Barrett in the face and fell to a Rayne youth striker who took advantage of Sam being dazed to slot it under Tom Kyne in goal. With luck like this, Tiptree went into the second half four goals down. With fitness levels low and two more lucky goals, the game finished 6-0 to Rayne. A wake up call for Tiptree. Man of the match was Johnny Daynes.
