Match Reports (latest first)

Boreham Youth 2  Tiptree Minors 1

Tiptree started well in the first half with Captain Nathan Kent taking a blistering free kick which was saved by an alert Boreham keeper. Alex Goodridge [who is usually in goal] proved he is as useful on the field as he is in the goal with some great defending. Will Lofthouse then took a superb throw in which lead to Tiptrees first goal scored by Jim Harvey. Tiptree nearly scored a second when Matt Allum had a brilliant shot on goal saved expertly by the Boreham keeper. Tiptree started the second half on top but despite some great saves by goalie Bradley King, Boreham managed to sneak in two goals.
Man of the match - Matt Allum
This was our last game of the season and all the boys and parents would like to thank coach Mark Goodridge for putting up with us for another year. Heres to next season! Also i would like to thank all our boys for giving me lots of exciting games to write about.

Tiptree Minors 0   Focus Ferrers Falcons  2

The second game of the weekend started much the same as the first with Focus Ferrers storming through to score a superb goal early on. They then came through again but Tiptree goalie Alex Goodridge was ready for them with a superb save only for Focus Ferrers to score on the rebound. Tiptrees hopes were then raised as Will Lofthouse produced a great run towards goal fending off four Focus Ferrers players on his way but the goalie gathered in the ball.
Although Tiptree started the second half 2 - 0 down they kept their chins up and kept trying with strong play by Bradley King and good defending from Jack Dunne.
Harry Hughes had a shot in the last minutes of the game which was inches wide but time was running out. Focus Ferrers were then awarded a free kick which was brilliantly taken but saved well by Alex Goodridge.
Man of the Match Alex Goodridge

White Notley 1  Tiptree Minors 0

Notley started this game on top with an early goal and despite two near misses by Harry Hughes and Matt Griffin Tiptree just couldn't equalize in the first half.
However Tiptree really dug their heels in in the second half with superb defending by Andrew Green and Tom Bellotti. Although Tiptree didn't score in the second half the strong defence made sure the score stayed the same.
Man of the match Harry Hughes

Tiptree Minors 4      Maldon Town Tigers  3

A very slow start for the minors who were trailing 1 -0 at half time.  But something said in the half time team talk obviously did the trick as they were firing on all cylinders from the start of the 2nd half. Despite the heat, Maldon extended their lead with another well taken goal before Tallon Terry scored two crackers giving the teams everything to play for. The Minors powered on and two individual goals from Jack Vickery made the game safe although Maldon pulled one back with the last kick of the game. Congratulations to both teams for an all round entertaining game.

Tiptree Minors 1     Mayland Village Tigers  1

After beating this team away last week there was good reason for Tiptree to be confident, but it was Mayland who scored first. Matthew Griffin fought back for Tiptree with two shots on goal in quick succession. Harry Hughes was in good form again with great passing throughout the first half. Nathan Kent was, as always, strong in defence even managing to clear the ball when he was on the ground himself! Mayland started the second half with a strong run towards goal but were stopped in their tracks by a great clearance by Jack Dunne. Tiptree were then awarded a penalty which was taken and scored by Jamie Peachey giving Tiptree the draw they deserved.
Man of the match Matthew Griffin.

Tiptree Minors  1    Dunmow Rhodes  5

Tiptree started this match confidently and dominated the first fifteen minutes. Tiptree captain Nathan Kent was a force to be reckoned with in midfield. Tiptree won numerous corners in the first half and it was from one of these that Bradley King had a great shot just cleared of the line by the Dunmow goalie. Nathan Kent then continued to impress with a fantastic pass to Max Humphries who put Tiptree in the lead to the delight of the crowd! Dunmow then managed to score two goals before half time. Tiptree maintained the high standard in the second half with strong saves by Alex Goodridge and good play by Andy Waddingham. However Dunmow came back into form and scored a further three. All in all an impressive performance by Tiptree against a talented Dunmow side.

Man of the match Tom Bellotti

Focus Ferrers Tigers 3   Tiptree Minors  1

This was a tough game for Tiptree and although they started off well with a great goal from Matthew Griffin things soon turned round when Focus Ferrers scored the first of two goals in the first half. The game went from bad to worse in the second half with Focus Ferrers scoring their third and final goal.

There were some brave saves by Tiptree goalie Alex Goodridge and Matthew Griffins "never give up attitude" was rewarded with the man of the match award. Definitely not Tiptrees day today!

Tiptree Minors  1  Mayland Village Tigers   3

Tiptree started the game with Matt Allum running rings around the opposition for the first five minutes but Mayland soon put the first goal in. Tiptree were quick to answer

with a lovely goal by Jim Harvey from a great pass by Matt Allum. The celebrations were short-lived as Mayland scored a second just before half time.

Despite some brave saves by goalie Bradley King and good play by the ever-enthusiastic Harry Hughes, Mayland scored the only goal of the second half.

Tiptree Minors 1   Boreham Youth  3

Boreham scored an early goal in the first half but Tiptree held it together well with great passing. Tiptree still stayed strong when Boreham scored a second and there were great shots on goal by Matt Allum and Brad King. Tiptree came out fighting for the second half with a long awaited goal from Matt Allum. The Tiptree defence (Nathan Kent and Tom Bellotti) were strong as usual and never gave up despite Boreham slipping in a third. Will Lofthouse was an outstanding man of the match for his brilliant passing throughout the game.

Coggeshall Town 1  Tiptree Minors  0

An excellent first half for Tiptree with all the play going their way, some superb passing between Will Lofthouse, Jamie Peachey, Jim Harvey and Matthew Griffin really had the Coggeshall defence on the run.

Tiptree had numerous shots but just couldn't get the ball in the net. Coggeshall came out fighting for the second half and scored very quickly, this was the only goal of the match although late attempts by Jim Harvey

and Matthew Griffin really kept the Coggeshall goalie on his toes. All in all another strong Tiptree performance.

Man of the match Will Lofthouse

Focus Ferrers Falcons 1  Tiptree Minors   0

Really solid first half for Tiptree with solid defending from captain Nathan Kent, aswell as some superb passing between Will Lofthouse and Max Humphries. Tiptree were just as solid in the second half with strong defending by Bradley King and numerous saves by goalie Alex Goodridge. Focus Ferrers finally broke through the strong Tiptree defence and scored the only goal of the match. All in all a strong Tiptree performance.

Focus Ferrers Tigers   2    Tiptree Minors   3

Tiptree started well with a good shot from Matthew Griffin but Focus Ferrers lead 1 - 0 into half time, but Tiptree were by no means finished and came storming back for the second half with good strong defending by Bradley King and reliable passing by Will Lofthouse. Tiptrees hard work was rewarded wih two goals from Max Humphries and a third from Jim Harvey. Focus Ferrers snatched one back towards the end and it could have been more but for numerous saves by ever dependable goalie Alex Goodridge.

Man of the match Matthew Griffin.

Heybridge Youth Hawks 6    Tiptree Minors  4

A great first half for Tiptree as Jim Harvey scored a superb hatrick helped by Max Humphries and Jamie Peachey who delivered the ball to Jim time and time again. Heybridge scored two goals in the first half but Tiptree brought their tally up to four with a super goal scored by Jamie Peachey.Sadly the second half didn't go so well for Tiptree and despite some brave saves by Alex Goodridge and tireless work by Andrew Green and Andy Waddingham they couldn't keep the momentum going and Heybridge came storming back with four more goals. Although it wasn't the result we'd hoped for it was a very exciting game to watch, definitely the one that got away!!

Man of the Match - Andrew Green

Boreham Youth 1  Tiptree Minors 0

After losing 3 - 0 in a league match against this team last week the boys were looking forward to this cup game. Tiptree dominated the game from the whistle. Great play from Harry Hughes up front kept the Boreham defence on their toes. Andrew Green showed off some good skillful play and Captain Nathan Kent was solid in defence with help from Andy Waddingham. The Boreham goalie was kept busy after a great corner by Jamie Peachey and numerous on target strikes by Will Lofthouse. Boreham scored the only goal of the match but Tiptree can be very proud as coach Mark Goodridge said "it was the performance of the season".

Man of the match Harry Hughes

Tiptree Minors    0                      Boreham Youth 3

Tiptree started the game well with some great passing by Tom Bellotti, but despite some strong defending by Will Lofthouse.  Boreham scored the first of two goals in the first half.

Boreham had a strong start to the second half with a shot on goal straight away but Tiptree goalie Bradley King made the save look easy. Tiptree did fight back with a couple of shots

but Boreham scored the third and final goal.

Man of the match Max Humphries

Tiptree Minors Under 10s 0   White Notley 4

An early goal by Notley really shook Tiptree and despite some hard work by Andrew Green Notley soon grabbed a second.
The second half saw Tiptree really up their game but Notley scored their third shortly followed by an own goal by Tiptree. A good solid performance from Will Lofthouse who never kept still and really
had the Notley players on the run! All in all a spirited performance by Tiptree.
Man of the match  Tom Bellotti

Dunmow Rhodes Tigers  5  Tiptree Minors Under 10s  1

The first half was dominated by Dunmow and despite some brave saves by Alex Goodridge Tiptree could not prevent them scoring 4 goals.

The second half was a very different story although Dunmow managed another goal Tiptree really made it difficult for them and were soon rewarded with a great team goal

expertly put together by Jamie Peachey and Matthew Griffin and well finished by Jim Harvey. Good skill from Matt Allum and hard work from Jack Dunne rounded up a solid performance.

Man of the match  Jack Dunne

Tiptree Minors under 10s  -0   Focus Ferrers Falcons  - 0

A nervous start to this cup game by Tiptree after last weeks 5 - 2 defeat by the same team but they held up well. Goalie Alex Goodridge was well tested but once again proved his worth.

Great defending by Tom Bellotti and tireless work by Will Lofthouse gave Tiptree a well deserved draw against a tough team.

Man of the match  Alex Goodridge

Tiptree Minors  0  Tollesbury Juniors  3

A new look for the under 10's with Harry Hughes, Matt Allum, Tom Bellotti and Matthew Greiffen all making their debuts.  The team played with a lot of determination and managed to keep Tollesbury at bay until half time. But, as always, it was a strong Tollesbury team in the second half and they managed to snatch three goals.

Man of the match - Tom Bellotti
