16th November Tiptree Minors Dodgers 2 – 3 Valley Green There was an early opportunity for Valley Green to score but Tiptree’s keeper Jamie Sleet made a good save. At the other end we really should have been ahead by at least 2 goals with ample opportunity to grab the lead however it wasn’t to be and Valley Green found the back of the net and Tiptree were behind. The equalizer from defender Harry Billimore was not far behind after a fantastic run through the Valley Green midfield and defence finished off with the goal Tiptree deserved. Second half and Valley Green took the lead again, Tiptree had opportunity after opportunity and there was a sigh of relief when Alfie Alexander knocked in the equaliser from a good corner pass. Tiptree should have had the game in the bag after a free kick but failed to find the goal they needed and just when we thought it was all over Valley Green managed to shoot home a 3rd just before the final whistle. Bad luck Tiptree you deserved the win but just need to find the back of the net a bit more. Man of the match Alfie Alexander 9th November Tiptree Minors Dodgers 1 – 2 Heybridge Youth It was a bit of a slow start as far as the Minors performance was concerned today and against a team who’s passing was so precise it was on the cards that Heybridge would score. This was obviously the wake up Tiptree needed and the boys upped their performance with Connor Murphy providing a great shot but denied the equaliser by the Heybridge keeper. Meanwhile Tiptree’s keeper, Jamie Sleet was up to his usual standard and made sure Heybridge did not widen their lead. Second half and Heybridge came straight out and scored, this just encouraged Tiptree to fight on and with real team effort and determination they were right back in the game and pulled one back with a great goal from Harry Billimore. The boys were so unlucky not to get a second and equalise but every player should be proud of their performance. Man of the match Harry Billimore 19th October Dunmow Rhodes Tigers 2 – 1 Tiptree Minors Dodgers There was consistently good play throughout from both teams today but Tiptree had the advantage at the end of the first half following a great run and accurate shot on goal from Owen Maddox, his second goal in two days for the Dodgers. However, Tiptree really should have had a greater advantage with good attempts on goal from defenders Harry Billimore with some great shots from midfield, and Jack Green with a great header from a corner. Cameron Matthews shot was just wide and Alfie Alexander ran his socks off in his determination to keep possession of the ball. Early into the second half and Tiptree seemed to still be in the changing rooms when Dunmow rapidly put one in the net. Tiptree, after 2 games in 2 days struggled in the second half and after endless attempts to clear the ball Dunmow found the goal they needed to take the win. There was no denying that the undisputed hero for Tiptree today was Jamie Sleet, ace keeper who made save after save. Man of the match – Jamie Sleet 18th October Tiptree Minors Dodgers 1 - 0 Maldon Saints It was a good first half for the Minors who just had the edge over Maldon, with strong defending and good team work the Minors did well to keep possession for much of this half. The highlight of the game for Tiptree came in second half with a great goal from new boy Owen Maddox, scoring his first for the Dodgers. Maldon had opportunity to score but were denied by the excellent keeping skills of Jamie Sleet. A good well deserved result for the boys today. Man of the match – Owen Maddox 12th October Coggeshall Town 6 – 1 Tiptree Minors Dodgers Given Tiptree’s performance in the first 10 minutes of the match, you would not have predicted the final score. The boys were working well as a team and the first goal went to Tiptree’s Aiden Ahern, with his first goal for the Minors. Despite continuing to work hard the Minors struggled to find the back of the net again and it was a disappointing result, there is always next week. Credit to Jack Green in his stand in position in goal today, well played. Man of the match – Harry Billimore 14th September Silver End 3 Tiptree Minors Dodgers 0 It was always going to be a challenge for the Minors today with a limited squad due to illness and injury however they had a promising start with a well taken free kick by Cameron Matthews tipped over the crossbar by the Silver End keeper. Tiptree unfortunately went down to a team of 6 due to illness but the entire worked their socks off and displayed some good passing. Silver End grabbed the advantage by scoring 3 goals, which would have been 4 had Tiptree’s outstanding keeper, Jamie Sleet not made a fantastic save after Silver End were awarded a penalty. Tiptree battled on in the second half to deny Silver End increasing their lead with the entire team pulling together and working hard as a team. Man of the match – Jamie Sleet
