'MAD’  MARK GOODRIDGE – Coach

The man responsible for setting up the team four years ago, the boys have been slowly driving him mad ever since!

ROCKIN’ ROB PEACHEY – Helpful Dad Often seen looking bleary eyed at training, much more active after a coffee.
NATHAN ‘CAPTAIN’ KENT Newly appointed Captain of the team Nathan’s very much a gentle giant – unless, of course, you’re playing for the opposition! MAX ‘RAMBO’ HUMPHRIES Max’s footballing skills are in his hair – the longer it grows the better he gets.
BRADLEY ‘BRADDERS’ KING Skilful both on pitch and in goal Bradders turns up for training week in week out. EVENTUALLY!

‘WIN IT’ WILL LOFTHOUSE

One of the fastest moving players on the pitch.  Blink and you’ll miss him.
JAMIE ‘THE MOUTH’ PEACHEY Once heard never forgotten. Luckily, his talents as big as his mouth. ‘LIGHTENING’ JIM HARVEY Jim has a great goal scoring record but his newest challenge is getting his Dad out of bed before nine on a Saturday morning.
ANDREW ‘AIRPLANE’ GREEN Steadfast in defence Andrew is well known for his airplane impressions when bored on the pitch. ALEX ‘I ATE ALL THE PIES’ GOODRIDGE Ace goalie Alex has all our respect, not only does he put up with the coach at training he has to live with him too!
HARRY ‘WHO ATE ALL THE PIES?’ HUGHES

The smiliest player in the team, Harry is well known for his love of pies.

JACK ‘BULLDOZER’ DUNNE

Jack’s presence on the pitch can shake any opposition. But don’t let him near your windows!

TOM ‘MY DAD WENT ON BLIND DATE’ BELLOTTI

Despite his Dad’s TV stardom Tom’s feet are firmly on the ground, he’s quite happy to wallow about in the mud like the rest of us. MATT ‘MATTYDOODLES’ ALLUM

Small in stature, but big in enthusiasm,  Matt’s not one to back out of a tackle.

ANDY ‘WADDERS’ WADDINGHAM Andy’s a great defender and can cover a lot of ground quickly – especially if there are sweets on offer. BEN ‘CANNONBALL’ PEACHEY We only see Ben’s talents at training but he keeps the others fit, they have to find the ball after the cannonball kick!!
MATTHEW ‘HOTSHOT’ GRIFFIN

Although Matthew has only been with the team a short while he scored in the very first match. Hence Hotshot!

League Cup Final

Tiptree Minors 0 - 2 Thaxted Rangers

A great occasion for the Tiptree boys as this was their first ever cup final. The team arrived at Witham Town Football Club together with coaches by mini bus, all dressed in smart Tiptree Minors tracksuits. The boys came out to huge cheers from a very large and vocal crowd. Tiptree showed sheer determination right from the whistle and although Thaxted scored the Tiptree boys bluntly refused to let them get through again, the defence was strong with Andy Waddingham cutting any Thaxted runs short. In the dying minutes of the first half Tiptree shook the Thaxted defence time and time again but just couldn't score that all important goal. Tiptree came out for the second half and continued to worry the Thaxted defence, Matt Allum and Matt Griffin tirelessly battled but just couldn't score. Then Thaxted scored their second, but once again, the Tiptree team spirit showed through, they kept their heads up and with ever optomistic encouragement from Jamie Peachey and the crowd they did themselves proud. Although the boys were runners up they have every reason to be proud.

Boys and parents would like to thank coaches Mark Goodridge, Rob Peachey and Lynton Humphries for our most successful season ever!

Man of the match - Andy Waddingham

Thaxted Rangers 3 - 1 Tiptree Minors under 11s

This was to be the most high pressure game of the season so far as the winners would also win the league. Despite the blistering heat both teams started well but it was Thaxted that scored first. Tiptree didn't let this deter them and showed the same admirable team spirit that they have had all season. This was soon rewarded when Jamie Peachey took a superb corner which Matt Allum headed into the crossbar only to be blasted in on the rebound by Tom Bellotti. Tiptree carried on to play at the same high standard, but it was Thaxted who scored again just before half time. Tiptree came out for the second half raring to go , both Andy Waddingham and Jim Harvey were brilliant in defence. Thaxted scored their third and still Tiptree refused to let their heads drop, they dug in and fought to the whistle. Although the result wasn't quite what they wanted the team spirit and overall performance can only be applauded. The excitement is not quite over as these two teams meet again next week for the league cup final!

Man of the match - The whole team (with the trophy going to assistant coach - Rob Peachey)

Tiptree Minors 4 - 0 Focus Ferrers

Tiptree started this game well with Jim Harvey scoring the first goal, shortly followed by a goal from , top scorer, Matt Griffin. Birthday boy Will Lofthouse had much to celebrate as he worked tirelessly all game and put in some strong tackles. Jim Harvey scored another good goal in the second half and the fourth was an own goal. Captain Nathan Kent was, once again, formidable in defence with a great deal of help from Jack Dunne. Yet again, another superb team performance by Tiptree.

Man of the match - Jack Dunne

Tiptree Minors 0 - 3 Thaxted Rangers

This was always going to be a nervous game for both teams as they are both battling to win the league. But it was Thaxted that came out on top scoring three goals in the first half. However ,Tiptree did play well as a team but were unable to take the few chances they created. Tiptree refused to let their heads drop and showed great spirit helped by never ending optomistic motivation by Jamie Peachey and Captain Nathan Kent. In the second half Tiptree dug in and refused to let Thaxted score again, mainly due to great defending by Jack Dunne and Nathan Kent. There were, once again, strong performances from Will Lofthouse and Matt Allum. Despite the result a strong team performance.

Man of the match - Jamie Peachey

Blackwater & Dengie League Under 11s

Fennlands United 1 - 4 Tiptree Minors

It was clear from the start that this wasn't going to be an easy game for Tiptree with the Fennlands defence really digging in, but Tiptrees first goal came from a great Jamie Peachey corner which Andrew Green was on the end of, and placed neatly in the net! The second Tiptree goal was just as skilful when goalie Alex Goodridge kicked the ball the length of the field and Matt Griffin got on the end of it. Matt Allum scored Tiptrees third just before half time. It wasn't long before Matt Griffin scored his second and he continued to be a key player all game. Then it was all change for Tiptree, much to the amusement of the crowd, Jamie Peachey took a turn in goal as regular goalie Alex Goodridge was let loose on the pitch! Both players did well, Alex making some strong passes and Jamie some good saves. Will Lofthouse gave a brilliant performance in midfield which continued all game. Fennlands then scored a brilliant, much deserved, goal in the dying minutes of the game.

Man of the match - Will Lofthouse

Blackwater & Dengie League Under 11s

Broomfield Youth 1 - 3 Tiptree Minors

Tiptree had a great start to this game with Jamie Peachey taking a spectacular free kick which went through the keepers fingers into the goal. Tiptree continued the great play with Max Humphries, once again, showing great skill in midfield. Matt Allum was all over the pitch and put in some unstoppable passes. Jim Harvey scored Tiptrees second and then added the third in the second half. Andy Waddingham was impressive in defence.

Despite Alex Goodridges acrobatic attempts to save Broomfield managed to grab one back late in the game. Another strong win for Tiptree!

Man of the match - Jamie Peachey

Blackwater & Dengie League Under 11’s

Focus Ferrers 0 - 4 Tiptree Minors

Tiptree started this game well with Jim Harvey scoring twice in the first half. Focus Ferrers forced Tiptree’s, ever reliable, goalie Alex Goodridge to make two tricky but confident saves. Max Humphries and Jamie Peachey were a tireless and very successful pairing in midfield.

The second half was a very different story with Focus Ferrers really applying the pressure, but Tiptree remained calm. Tom Bellotti and Andy Waddingham were strong in defence, lead by Captain Nathan Kent, this was just as well as Focus Ferrers were doing all the attacking. Will Lofthouse gave a strong performance robbing the opposition of the ball time and time again. Tiptrees patience was finally rewarded with two late goals scored by Matt Griffin. A good game to watch with both teams battling hard.

Man of the match - Nathan Kent

Blackwater & Dengie League Under 11’s

Tiptree Minors 6 - 1 Broomfield Youth

This was the league cup semi final (second leg) and Tiptree had an uphill battle ahead of them after losing the first leg 2 - 1. The first half was quite even with both teams scoring, Tiptrees goal coming from Matt Griffin, leaving it 1 - 1 at half time. In the second half Tiptree really sprang into action with three great goals on the trot from Matt Allum, Tiptrees fifth was scored by Jamie Peachey shortly followed by a sixth from Jim Harvey. Broomfield would have got one back but for a clever clearance off the line by Jack Dunne. This was a brilliant team performance, Captain Nathan Kent was once again strong in defence as was Tom Bellotti, there was great passing by Will Lofthouse and Max Humphries. Brad King made some strong runs up the field often leaving the opposition behind. There was clever play, once again, by Andrew Green and a great effort by Harry Hughes and Alex Goodridge was as reliable in goal as ever. Tiptree are in the  final!!!!!

Men of the match - The whole team and Coach Mark Goodridge

27th January 2008 League

Hatfield Peverel Jets 2 - 3 Tiptree Minors

Hatfield Peverel were much the better team at the start of this match, Tiptree only woke up when Hatfield Peverel scored their first. But wake up they did! Andrew Green was superb throughout the first half and Tiptree soon got their first goal scored by Matt Griffin. Will Lofthouse was once again all over the pitch putting in some skilful passes. Tiptree’s concentration lapsed just before half time allowing Hatfield Peverel to score their second.

The second half started with goalie Alex Goodridge making a superb save. Matt Griffin then scored his second of the game. Now the battle was really on with both teams playing well. Bradley King was superb all game and really kept the opposition on their toes. Tiptrees third goal finally came scored by Jim Harvey from another great pass by Will Lofthouse. Tiptree were once again saved by goalie Alex Goodridge when he just managed to get to a great shot by a Hatfield Peverel striker.

Man of the match Max Humphries

20th January 2008 League

Tiptree Minors 5 - 0 Meadow Youth

Due to the terrible weather conditions this match was played on the all weather pitch at Thurstable, this together with the strong wind made it quite a difficult game for both teams.

After a slow start Tiptree got used to the conditions and Matt Griffin scored two goals. Captain Nathan Kent was brilliant in defence and Max Humphries was all over the pitch so the Meadow Youth defenders could rarely catch him. Maxs work was rewarded with a great goal shortly into the second half. Matt Griffin then completed his hatrick and Jim Harvey scored Tiptrees fifth. Brad King worked hard all game and Will Lofthouse put in a strong effort, having just come back from injury. There was also a welcome return by Harry Hughes who suffered a bad eye injury a few months back. All in all a good result from a difficult match.

Man of the match Jim Harvey.

13th January 2008 League cup

Hatfield Peverel Jets 2 - 4 Tiptree Minors under 11s

Tiptree started this game well with a goal from Matt Griffin in the first five minutes. Hatfield Peverel would have equalised shortly after but for a great save by Alex Goodridge, the first of many! Matt Allum scored Tiptrees second before Hatfield Peverel grabbed their first, leaving the score 2-1at half time. Matt Griffin continued the good work in the second half, not only with some great passing but with a brilliant left footed goal.

Shortly afterwards Brad King tapped in Tiptrees fourth. Hatfield Peverel were awarded a late penalty which they scored despite goalie Alex Goodridge getting a hand to it. A good score for Tiptree whos saving grace was Alex Goodridge who made too many great saves to count!

Man of the match - Alex (nothings gonna get past me) Goodridge.

6th January 2008

Tiptree Minors 2 - 2 Thaxted Rangers (league cup)

Tiptree had a slow start to this game (mainly put down to too many Christmas chocs!) Thaxted scored very early, Tiptree were slow to respond at first but a superb goal scored by Jamie Peachey from just outside the box woke them up and then the game was really on! Will Lofthouse put in some great tackles and accurate passes. However Tiptree dropped their guard for a second towards the end of the first half and Thaxted seized the opportunity and scored their second. Tiptree were really up for the second half with Tom Bellotti continuing his strong defensive display. Tiptrees improved play in the second half was soon rewarded when Jamie Peachey and Matt Allum pulled off some great passing nicely finished off with a goal from Matt Griffin. Well done to both teams, this was probably the most even and exciting match so far!

Tiptree Minors 10  Hatfield Peverel Jet   0

Tiptree carried on their strong run in the league with this terrific team effort. Matt Griffin carried on his great goal scoring run with four goals. Jim Harvey scored two and also took a brilliant free kick which Jamie Peachey headed in to score his first of the season. Others to get their names on the score sheet for the first time this season were Brad King and Max Humphries who managed  a superb long shot completely taking the Hatfield Peverel goalie by surprise. Matt Allum kept up his good performances with yet another great goal. Goalie Alex Goodridge made several brilliant saves helping Tiptree keep a clean sheet. Another super team effort by a strong Tiptree team.
Man of the match Alex Goodridge.

28th October 2007

Tiptree Minors 10     Fennlands United    1
The first half went really well for Tiptree with both Matt Allum and Matt Griffin scoring two goals. The second half was just as successful with a third goal for Matt Allum and three more goals for Matt Griffin, there was also two goals from Jim Harvey, one of which was scored after a great run down the pitch taking on three defenders on the way. Aswell as the great goal scoring, Tiptree played well as a team with good play by defenders Andrew Green and Nathan Kent as well as strong passing and well timed tackles from Jamie Peachey. Fennlands did fight back and never gave up, they were rewarded late in the second half with a good goal. All in all a very exciting but friendly game that was a pleasure to watch.

Thaxted Rangers 4   Tiptree Minors   2
Tiptree started slowly in the first half allowing Thaxted to score two goals, it could have been three but for Nathan Kents brilliant kick off the line. The second half saw Tiptree step up their game with another classy goal from Matt Griffin. Andy Waddingham saved Tiptrees blushes with a superb header off the line, but Thaxted came storming back to score their third. Jim Harvey then put in a great cross causing Thaxted to score an own goal. There was a fourth and final goal for Thaxted in the last minutes of the game. A strong fight back from Tiptree in the second half made it a very entertaining game.
Man of the match Andy Waddingham

23rd September 2007

Baddow Spartak Tigers 12   Tiptree Minors   2

This was a tough draw for Tiptree in the knockout cup as Baddow are two divisions above Tiptree and the difference was apparent straight away. Despite Tiptrees great form in the league they were no match for these strong apponants. Baddow scored six goals in the first half but Tiptrees saving grace was Jim Harvey who not only played well but scored a great goal aswell. Baddow went on to score six more goals in the second half with Tiptrees Matt Griffin scoring a consolation goal.
Man of the match - Jim Harvey

Meadow Youth Eagles 1  Tiptree Minors 8

Another top performance by Tiptree, Matt Allum scored first today shortly followed by Matt Griffin. Meadow Youth then took Tiptree by surprise and scored. Tiptree were then awarded a penalty which was well taken by Jim Harvey, leaving Tiptree 3-1 up at half time. The second half was awash with Tiptree goals. Harry Hughes scored his long awaited first goal much to the delight of the crowd! Matt Griffin scored two more to complete his second hatrick in two games and there was one more each from Matt Allum and Jim Harvey. The Tiptree team showed good determination with strong passing by Andrew Green and tireless unselfish play by Max Humphries not to mention the odd clattering tackle from Jamie Peachey! Another brilliant result.
