Two goals down in the first two minutes was not
the start the boys needed, that said the Minors
created enough chances to have got something out
of this game as the chances taken was the
difference between the two sides.

Some excellent football eventually gave
the Minors a comfortable first win of
the new season. Fine goal keeping from
the Tollesbury keeper kept the score
down to 1-0 at half time. Casey Reed
with a powerful header was the only one
to beat him. The second half was a
different story as the minors began to
take their chances. Goals from Tallon
Terry (3) and Karl Sorrell(2) rounded
off an excellent team performance from
the boys on the day.
Thaxted 4 Tiptree Minors 0 An understrength Minors side battled hard for 3/4 of this match, but ran out of steam towards the end. The second Thaxted goal came 15 minutes from the end and this killed off any resistance the boys had left. A fine 25 yard lob from Karl Sorrell marked a superb fight
back from the Minors. They were 2-0 down with 20 minutes to
go when the boys decided to start playing like they know
they can and they were a different team to the lethargic one
that started the match. Two further goals from Karl Sorrell
to claim his first hatrick!
