Tiptree Minors 6 Thaxted Rangers 0
Tiptree Minors 0 Notley Youth 8
Minors paid the penalty for conceding early goals at home to Notley. Although Minors battled well throughout the match, particularly after the break, it was always going to be difficult getting anything out of the game. However, the passion the team showed towards the end of the game ensured that all the boys went home with their heads held high and full of confidence.
Man of the match: Ryan Diggins
Braintree Town 8 Tiptree Minors 0
Tiptree Minors were on the back foot from the off. With striker Cameron in goal ( Covering for a Sick Tom) things were not going to be easy.
Despite being three down in ten minutes Tiptree solider on through and showed some true grit in defence. A special mention to Sam who did some excellent man marking and to Connor who's second half goalkeeping acrobats earned him the man of the match.
Tiptree Minors 0 Hatfield Peveral 0
It was a different minors team to the one that Hatfield beat only a few weeks ago. They were clearly not going to be beaten lightly and from the beginning their enthusiasm shone through and they were here to battle to the end. Superb running and vision from Ryan Diggons and Liam Pearce mixed with the great defence of Patrick, Luke, and Jack ensured clean sheets for Tom, the minors keeper, combined with great saves from the Hatfield keeper.
Man of the match – Luke James
Tiptree Minors 0 Thaxtead 2
Tiptree travelled away to Thaxtead and saw some cold and blustery conditions. Right from the start they had the run of the game but when Thaxtead broke away ten minutes into the game and scored ,this was a set back to their confidence. From then on it was an end to end half and due to some excellent defending from Connor and Indy and from the Thaxtead team, the score remained 1- 0 at half time. The start of the second half saw the same spirit from Tiptree, and despite some great attacking moves and shots from Cameron,Luke and Sam the ball would not go in the net at the Thaxtead end. As Tiptree pushed forward it left a gap at the back and Thaxtead scored again to seal a victory. It was a credit to the Minors team that heads remained high and the goalies at both ends made some great saves. It was just not Tiptree's day.
Man of the match this week went to Tom.
Hatfield Peveral 3 Tiptree Minors 1
A heavy pitch helped the home team to a deserved victory. Tiptree worked hard throughout the game and could have scored early on, but some great defending from Hatfield denied them. Luke, Liam and Lewis deserve a special mention for the effort they gave. Without these players the score could have been greater. A late goal by Johnny Daynes started a bit of a fight back, but it was just a little to late. A promising first run out for new boy Patrick Steele that earned him the deserved Man of the Match
Tiptree Minors 3 Braintree Town 6
Tiptree battled bravely with a bare 7 man squad. Braintree Town are unbeaten in the league and so this was always going to be a toughie. With some excellent work from Sam Barrett and Luke James,Tiptree kept the score to just 1-0 down up till half time. In the second half wave after wave of Braintree Town attacks wore Tiptree down. After 15 min Tiptree were 5-0 down. But the boys never gave up and once they got their second wind they tore apart a bewildered Braintree. Sam Barrett, Ryan Diggons and Lewis Taylor all scored great goals. With Lewis scoring a 30 yard volley over the keeper. A good all round if not puffed out performance.
Man of the Match Indy Kerrison
Tiptree Minors 1 Coggeshall 0
A battle from the off with these two teams playing for their place in the next round of the cup. Both teams had several chances and it really was end to end stuff despite the bitterly cold wind. Tom Kyne made some amazing saves keeping it 0-0 at half time. The second half Tiptree showed their true character and it was only a matter of time all be it a couple of minutes from the end for Cameron Mansfield to be one on one with the keeper before tucking the ball into the corner netting, Well done boys!
Man of the match – Connor Fairbrother
Dunmow United stars 4 Tiptree Minors 1
In monsoon conditions both teams played their part in an entertaining game. A slow start by the minors saw them 3~0 down inside the first 10 minutes. A Johnny Daynes strike made for an interested 2nd half but Dunmow killed the game off with a late penalty,
Tiptree Minors 5 Coggeshall 3
Tiptree had a difficult start as they went 2 goals down almost straight away. They kept their heads up and worked extremely hard which paid off with a goal from Luke James shortly followed by another from Ryan Diggons. The minors were full of commitment in the 2nd half and they showed great determination. Liam Pearce scored a lovely goal from a re-bound free kick. Spirits were now high and confidence shone from Connor Fairbrother, Indy Kerrison and Cameron Mansfield with passes to Ryan Diggons to allow him to score a further 2 and make his hat-trick. This was the best performance so far this season from Tiptree.
Man of the match – Connor Fairbrother
Tiptree Minors 1 Haltfield Peveral Blues 1
A cup game with both teams looking evenly matched. After 15 minutes and in spite of good defending by Luke James & Sam Barrett Hatfield Blues scored their first. In the second half Tiptree looked the better team and 10 minutes in after a Hatfield goal kick Tom Kyne, resting from goal keeping, scored! The rest of the game was evenly fought with Tiptree playing some of their best football so far.
Man of the match Luke James for consistent defending.
Tiptree Minors 3 Coggeshall 2
A much better performance from Tiptree in an exciting end to end game. Despite being a goal down at half time, the minors came out for the second half with great team spirit and effort from everybody. Strong defending from Luke James and well taken goals from Liam Pearce, Lewis Taylor and the final in the last minute from Cameron Mansfield secured a well deserved victory.
Man of the match – Tom Kyne the minors goalie for making some brave saves towards the end of the match.
Great Notley Lions 9 Tiptree Minors 1
Tiptree minors came up against an inform Great Notley team today. With a much diminished squad the boys ran their hearts out, but against this opposition there was not much chance of a result. The whole team played with great spirit even though the score line doesn't show it. Another superb goal by Ryan Diggons made sure Tiptree came home with some pride.
Man of the match- Lewis Taylor.
Tiptree Minors 1 Dunmow United 3
Tiptree minors played with great spirit and perseverance today. Once again the lads gave 100% but just didn't get the luck they so deserved. Dunmow took their chances and punished the Minors for a couple of mistakes. Ryan Diggons had a few chances, but the ball just didn't come down to him right, except once when he slotted it home. A very good game to watch, true value for money.
Man of the match Sam Barrett.
